Sakino Mathilde Sternberg

I was born as second child of ten, raised in a conservative Catholic family in the countryside of West Germany. I studied psychology, pedagogics and sociology in Göttingen and Hamburg, graduated in psychology at university Hamburg. I worked with handicapped children for 7 years in a hospital in Hamburg, then self employed in my own praxis. I live and work in Berlin since 1985. I cherish friendships with people who I love and honor. I love movement, dance, fitness, traveling, reading, writing, music, theater, movies, good food.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 45 years experience in different fields of therapy and counseling. Systemic family therapist (Satir), 2 years training assistant at the University of Hamburg, Member of the Chamber of Psychotherapists Berlin/Germany and the German Association of Systemic Constellations (DGfS).

Four years Leading Psychologist at Oberbergklinik Berlin Brandenburg for Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy.

Trained in Systemic Therapy, Family and Systemic Constellation work, Primal Therapy, Sexuality Therapy, Client Centered Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Encounter, Trauma Therapy (SE and NARM), Storytelling, Therapy with older people. Trained by Veeresh Denny Yuson, Bert Hellinger, Gunthard Weber, Peter Levine, Laurence Heller, Dan Bar On, Meinolf Peters et al.

I work in Berlin in my own praxis, and worldwide. I have specialized in family and systemic constellations and trauma therapy, especially developmental trauma and transgenerational transmission of trauma.

I am co-founder and director of the “Dan Bar On International Dialogue Center – IDC”, engaging in worldwide peace projects.
